It’s a county that’s given us so many gems. From golfing hero Shane Lowry to the
marvellous musician oh my my my Mundy ( belts into a chorus of ‘July’) Offaly has
a wealth of talent. And then yes, of course we are we are going to claim it, Barack
Obama. (Barack Obama Plaza; the best named service station in the country? We think
so.)
Also let’s make some noise for Clonmacnoise! This monastery was a university of it’s
time in the 6th century- how class is that?! If you are in the mood for a bit of fresh air,
you can get your hiking boots on for a walk along the Slieve Bloom Mountians. Or of
course, throw on the aul wellies for a day out on Clara Bog.
